How Much Should I Take For A Trip To Thailand?

im planning a trip to thailand for about 3-4 weeks, i need an idea on how much i will need to take with me in australian dollars, and also suggestions on some good places to party?

For partying, head to the islands – Koh Tao and Koh Phangan (the latter is home of the Full Moon Party). In Bangkok, check out what the other answers here say, plus BedSupper Club on Sukhumvit Soi 11, plus all around Khao San if you want to see travellers and Thais mixing.
Personally, I would carry about AUD1500. Bring along a Visa or Mastercard for places that accept them and also a ATM card – you can use the ATMs in Bangkok for a small transcational fee if you need to (about AUD5 per transaction)
To party … try the following clubs.
Dance Fever – Local Thai Style Disco with life band and Dj
70/1 Na Thong, Ratchadapisek Road
Santika Club – Upmarket club for the rich thais. Again with life band and Djs
Ekamai Road
Q Bar Bangkok – American style club with strong drinks. Dj only.

How much? Are you talking about ALL inclusive – for accommodation as well? ( Hotel, hostel?) or just for sight seeing , entertainment, shopping? Are you going to be travelling around all over the country or just Bangkok.
Anyway – really, just take as much as you can because there will always be expenses and $$ is never enough. If you are talking cost of a bed as well – then budget for AT LEAST $500 a week (this will also give you a decent bed and some party money)
Good place to party? Lots of places to go anywhere in Bangkok but try Sukumvit Road.
Just a word of warning – a lot of people may have given you the idea of going to Bangkok and have a great booze up. But they don’t tell you about the many foreign tourists EACH DAY get into trouble after they had a most wonderful time partying and making friends and waking up face down on the footpath the next morning with NO money and NO ID.

dunno what the rate is for oz dollars but not less than £1000 for a month.Like others have said ……….all those places in Bkk,Patong in Phuket,anywhere in Pattaya,Lamai or Chaweng(green mango bar) in Koh Samui,Hat Rin beach for full moon prty in Koh Phaghan Enjoy
